Job summary

Bank of New Zealand is seeking an Engineering Platform Manager - Cloud Hosting to lead BNZ's cloud hosting and container platforms, enabling engineers across the bank to build, deploy and operate services securely at scale.

You will own the cloud foundations, drive modernization and ensure security, cost efficiency and reliability across BNZ’s on-premise and cloud environments. The role offers strategic impact and leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading technology teams at scale.
• Deep AWS and/or Azure platform expertise and cloud strategy experience.
• Proven ability to drive resilience, security and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve AWS/Azure foundations (landing zones, identity, networking, guardrails) and the cloud hosting roadmap.
• Own and evolve containerisation across cloud and on premise.
• Lead incident, problem and change management for cloud hosting platforms, meeting ITIL measures, CHF and SLAs.
• Partner with Architecture, Security and Risk to ensure platforms are coherent, secure and compliant.
• Drive adoption and improve developer experience through self-service, standards and automation (including governed AI tooling).
• Manage vendor relationships, budgets and cost optimisation for cloud hosting services.
