Job summary

Southern Cross Health Society in Auckland is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Platforms team as we modernise our cloud-first estate. You’ll bring automation-first and SRE thinking to day-to-day operations, improving monitoring, provisioning and overall reliability across on-premises and cloud environments.

You’ll collaborate with product and engineering teams to align infrastructure with delivery goals, automate provisioning, enhance monitoring, and implement

Qualifications

• Proven experience in infrastructure engineering and systems administration.
• Experience managing physical servers, storage, and network devices.
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux/Unix patching and hardening.
• Ability to design, implement and maintain scalable, reliable on‑premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with EUC/VDI environments and Azure networking is a plus.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Help resolve incidents and problems with vendors and internal teams, and implement improvements.
• Maintain high availability, scalability and performance of systems.
• Automate provisioning and deployment of infrastructure.
• Improve monitoring and pursue self‑healing solutions.
• Strengthen security practices and ensure compliance.
• Document infrastructure configurations and processes.
• Collaborate with Value Streams and Technology Team to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Share expertise and promote consistent policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate organizational values and KPIs with collaborative approaches.
