Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a clinical unit administrator for the Whakatane Maternity Unit. This part-time role is 16 hours per week, with rostered shifts from 07:00-15:30 or 11:30-20:00, and focuses on front-of-house administrative care for hapu patients and their whanau.

You will work closely with patients and clinical staff, needing strong communication, organisational skills, and a high level of attention to detail.

  • Patient information systems and medical terminology knowledge.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-of-house administrative care to hapu patients and their whanau in the community.
  • Support a rotating roster and assist all clinical, non-clinical staff and patients within the service.
  • This is a reception-based role in Whakatane Hospital Maternity Unit.

About the Role

Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is seeking a clinical unit administrator for the Whakatane Maternity Unit. This position is part time, 16 hours per week, working rostered shifts ranging from 07:00-15:30 & 11:30-20:00.

This position provides front of house administrative care to our hapu patients and their whanau in the community. Attention to detail, a high level of initiative, good organisational and communication skills are key components to the role.

The position requires you to work closely with patients and clinical staff. Therefore, you will need to be comfortable building rapport with various people and be a trusted and respectful staff member.

The team works on a rotating roster. You will support all clinical, non-clinical staff and patients within the service. This is a varied role that requires a high level of attention to detail.

This is reception-based role in Whakatane Hospital Maternity Unit.
