Job summary

Mills Albert, a family-owned civil contracting company based near the Kāpiti Coast, is looking for an experienced Project Engineer or Project Manager to own civil construction projects and progress toward Contracts Management. You will work with senior managers, manage programming, costs, client relations and variations to deliver safely and profitably.

Qualifications

• A Civil Engineering qualification or proven experience in a PE or PM role within New Zealand.
• Experience managing and delivering civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project planning, programming and construction methodologies.
• Exposure to project financial management, claims and variations.
• Sound working knowledge of NZS 3910.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of project outcomes.
• Full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence, and willingness to travel throughout the region.
• Applicants must have unrestricted work rights in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Plan, programme and coordinate civil construction projects.
• Monitor project costs, productivity and forecast performance.
• Manage client relationships and support commercial outcomes.
• Prepare monthly claims, variations and project reporting.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and project resources.
• Identify and capture additional project scope opportunities.
• Support quality, environmental and health & safety objectives.
• Work collaboratively with operational teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
