Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects across Canterbury. You will own delivery, coordinate clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure safety, efficiency and profitability.

You will mentor Project Engineers and Site Managers, drive commercial performance, manage risks, forecasts, and contractual compliance while championing quality and environmental best practice.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of civil construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of drainage, water, wastewater, utilities, earthworks, or roading projects.
• Excellent commercial management and project controls capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of civil infrastructure projects across drainage, utilities, earthworks, roading, and associated civil works.
• Manage project programmes, resources, budgets, and subcontractors.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements.
• Drive commercial performance through effective forecasting, cost control, and risk management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, councils, and key stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Engineers, Site Managers, and delivery teams.
• Champion quality, safety, and environmental best practice across all project activities.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.

Are you an experience Senior Project Manager ready for a new step in your career? Our client is expanding their business and needs the right candidate to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects across Canterbury. You'll lead the delivery of multiple civil projects, working closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably. Alongside project delivery, you'll play a key role in stakeholder management, commercial performance, and leadership to Project Managers, Engineers and other internal staff.
