Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island Limited is seeking a Checkout Manager to lead and support our busy checkout team. The role involves rostering, timesheets, and hands-on customer service including Lotto, packing and supervision at the checkout.

You will oversee daily checkout operations, maintain high service standards, and drive a smooth, efficient team environment. The position works 40 hours per week with weekend and some evening shifts.

We are seeking aCheckout Managerextraordinaire!

The role will involve the following:

• Managing, organising and supporting our checkout team
• Admin tasks such as timesheets and rosters
• Customer services including lotto, checkout operating, packing and supervising
• Overseeing the successful operations of our checkout team

Please note: Our busiest times are long weekends/public holidays, summer holidays and our team members are required to work through these periods.

The person we are looking for will have the following attributes:

• Have a passion for giving excellent customer service and going the extra mile for our customers
• Be able to 'lead from the front' and set high standards for the team
• Be able to work well in a team and also be self-managing
• Must be able to show initiative, be honest and reliable
• Must have a positive outlook and a 'can-do' attitude
• Have great problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• You must also be physically fit as it involves being on your feet all day
• A liquor duty manager certificate is preferable

This role is 40 hours per week and involves working one day in the weekend and some evening work.
