Job summary

Wakatipu Playcentre in Otago is seeking a Part-time Centre Coordinator to support sessions that reflect our Playcentre philosophy and enrich children’s learning. The role focuses on building adult capability and confidence, and providing high-quality guidance to whānau and staff on curriculum and safety.

The role is session-based, includes a variety of times Tue–Thu, and is term-time only with a guaranteed 14 hours per week. Experience with Te Whāriki and Te Tiriti o Waitangi is preferred.

Qualifications

• Confident building and maintaining relationships with centre whānau and staff.
• Ability to use technology to support learning and administration.
• Commitment to Playcentre philosophy and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki with rich, child-led curriculum experiences.
• Role-model and support delivery of high quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Provide curriculum, adult education and health and safety guidance to support session delivery.
• Ensure sessions meet Health and Safety obligations and regulatory requirements.
• Promote Māori cultural values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi within Playcentre activities.
