Job summary

Te Kauwhata Playcentre is seeking a Centre Coordinator to work in partnership with whānau and staff. The role focuses on building adult capability and confidence, providing pedagogical guidance, and ensuring sessions reflect Playcentre Philosophy and promote children's learning and development.

The position is part-time and term-time only, with duties including curriculum guidance, health and safety, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi engagement. Strong relationships and technology skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations is essential.
• First Aid certification is required.
• Experience supporting play-centre pedagogy and adult education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with centre whānau and support staff to build adult capability.
• Provide pedagogical guidance aligned with Playcentre Philosophy.
• Ensure sessions reflect curriculum and safety requirements.
• Support high-quality, whānau-led sessions and learning experiences.
• Promote Maori cultural values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice.
