Job summary

Balclutha Playcentre in Otago is seeking a Centre Coordinator for 5 hours per week during term time to support whānau and provide pedagogical guidance.

You will collaborate with centre whānau and staff to deliver rich, child-led experiences that reflect Playcentre Philosophy, develop adult capability, and ensure sessions comply with health, safety and regulatory requirements.

Experience with Te Whāriki, strong relationship skills and a willingness to promote Māori cultural values are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adult education and whānau development
• Knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations
• First Aid certificate current or willingness to complete

Responsibilities

• Support sessions and programmes reflecting Playcentre Philosophy
• Provide guidance to centre whānau on curriculum, adult education and safety
• Ensure sessions meet regulatory and legislative requirements including Health and Safety obligations
