Job summary

Playcentre Aotearoa in Wellington is seeking a part-time Centre Coordinator for 12.5 hours per week during term time. You will work with centre whānau and staff to deliver high-quality, whānau-led sessions that align with Playcentre Philosophy and Te Whāriki.

You will build adult capability, provide guidance on curriculum, health and safety, and model best practices to empower tamariki learning. This role requires strong relationship skills and a commitment to te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Qualifications

• Course 3 of the Playcentre Education Diploma or equivalent ECE Qualification Level 4+.
• Hold and maintain appropriate First Aid certification.
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations.
• Ability to use technology to support learning and administration.

Responsibilities

• Develop whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki with rich, child-led experiences.
• Role-modelling and supporting the delivery of high quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Provide curriculum, adult education and health and safety guidance to support session delivery.
• Ensure sessions meet health and safety obligations and regulatory requirements.
• Promote Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori cultural values within Playcentre.
