Job summary

Playcentre Aotearoa is seeking a Centre Coordinator to work with centre whānau, focusing on building adult capability and leadership in sessions to support a whānau-led environment.

The role provides high-quality guidance as Person Responsible, ensuring sessions reflect Playcentre Philosophy and enrich children’s learning and development, with emphasis on curriculum, health and safety, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Qualifications

• Must have Playcentre Education Diploma Course 3 or equivalent ECE qualification (Level 4+).
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa is required.
• Hold and maintain appropriate First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki through rich, child-led curriculum experiences.
• Role-model and support the delivery of high-quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Provide advice and support to centre whānau on curriculum, adult education and health and safety.
• Ensure sessions meet regulatory and legislative requirements including Health and Safety obligations.
• Promote Māori cultural values and actively engage with te Tiriti o Waitangi.
