Tauhara College Taupo is seeking a Full-Time Caretaker to maintain a safe, clean and well-presented environment for students and staff. You will disarm alarms, unlock and secure the site, manage waste, perform routine maintenance, and coordinate contractors.
The role requires practical hands-on maintenance skills, independence, good time management, and strong organisational abilities. Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand and be prepared for police vetting.

Tauhara College is seeking a reliable, proactive, and practical individual to join our team as a Full-Time Caretaker. This is a key role responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented environment for our students, staff, and wider school community.
Disarm the school alarm and unlock the school each morning, and secure and lock the site at the end of each day.
Manage rubbish collection, including emptying school bins daily and preparing rubbish for collection.
Carry out general maintenance of school buildings, grounds, equipment and facilities.
Undertake minor repairs and maintenance, and coordinate external contractors when required.
Ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained.
Set up and pack down rooms and spaces for school events, activities and functions.
Monitor, maintain and report issues with school equipment, buildings and facilities.
Manage basic health and safety requirements across the school site.
Complete relevant administrative tasks, including record keeping, ordering supplies and maintaining maintenance logs.
Practical, hands-on skills with a good level of general maintenance experience
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to help
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, both online and manually and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Previous experience in a similar role - preferred but not essential
