Job summary

Heritage Lifecare in Dunedin is seeking a dedicated Caregiver to support residents with compassionate, person‑centered care in a warm and welcoming environment.

This permanent part‑time role offers 12 hours per week with weekend availability (Saturdays and Sundays) and both AM and PM shifts.

Applicants should hold a NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or an equivalent qualification and have at least six months’ experience caring for others.

Qualifications

• Proven caregiving experience, preferably in aged care environments.
• NZQA Cert in Health & Wellbeing or equivalent qualification.
• At least six months’ experience as a Caregiver or similar role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Genuine love for helping people and excellent customer service.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents.
• Support residents with daily activities and personal care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and report changes to the team.

About Our Role:

• Redroofs Lifecare, located in Beautiful Dunedin
• Permanent Part-time (12 hours per week)
• Must be available Saturdays and Sundays

You will have a positive compassionate attitude, the ability to make others smile, and be great at working with people. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our residents are cared for to the highest standard with kindness and patience, in a warm and caring atmosphere.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Minimum NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Nursing)
• At least six months experience as a Caregiver or in a similar role.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures.
