Job summary

Heritage Lifecare is seeking a compassionate Caregiver for Karina Lifecare in Palmerston North. This permanent part-time position (15 hours per week) includes AM, PM, Night and Weekend shifts to support our residents’ daily needs in a warm, caring environment.

The successful candidate will bring caregiving experience, NZQA Health and Wellbeing certification or equivalent, strong communication, and a patient, empathetic approach to resident care.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Genuine love for helping people with a friendly, positive demeanor.
• Solid understanding of health and safety procedures.

About Our Role:

You will have a positive compassionate attitude, the ability to make others smile, and be great at working with people. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our residents are cared for to the highest standard with kindness and patience, in a warm and caring atmosphere.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Minimum NZQA Level Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Nursing)
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures.
