Job summary

Heritage Lifecare is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker for St Joseph's Lifecare in Upper Hutt, Wellington. This part-time role (24 hours per week) covers AM, PM and Night shifts to provide compassionate care to residents in a warm, caring setting.

You will be part of a diverse team at Heritage Lifecare, supporting high standards of wellbeing, safety, and dignity for residents while fostering a welcoming environment for staff and families.

Qualifications

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• NZQA Level Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Nursing) desirable.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Genuine love for helping people with excellent customer service, friendly attitude.
• Awareness of health and safety procedures and commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Your Skills And Experience

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Minimum NZQA Level Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Nursing) is desirable.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures.
