Job summary

St Joseph's Lifecare in Upper Hutt, Wellington, is seeking a casual Caregiver to join our compassionate team. Shifts include AM, PM, Night and Weekend, with a focus on high-standard resident care delivered in a warm, patient environment.

You will bring experience in aged care, solid communication skills, and a love for helping people. NZQA Health and Wellbeing qualification or equivalent is desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• NZQA Level Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent is desirable.
• Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Genuine love for helping people with a friendly, positive attitude.
• Focus on health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Care for residents to the highest standard with kindness and patience.
• Provide compassionate support during AM, PM, Night and Weekend shifts.
• Work as part of a warm and caring team at St Joseph's Lifecare Upper Hutt.

Your Skills And Experience

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Minimum NZQA Level Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Nursing) is desirable.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures.
