Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages in Paraparaumu is seeking a Caregiver to join our team to provide personal care and support to residents, ensuring a safe and enjoyable daily life. The role is part of a rotating schedule across AM, PM and Night shifts in the Paraparaumu Village.

You will bring aged care experience and strong communication skills, with a commitment to a 4-on/2-off roster. We offer weekend rate uplift, time-and-a-half for shifts over eight hours, and health insurance support.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or similar role.
• Strong verbal communication and relationship-building.
• Commitment to 4 days on and 2 days off roster.
• Flexibility to rotate AM/PM/Night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and assist with mealtimes.
• Support personal hygiene, including showering.
• Assist with individual care plans, walks and exercises.
• Support residents with activities like puzzles and table tennis.

Job Description

As a Caregiver at our Paraparaumu Village you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical Duties Include

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

The shift/hours for this role are: 4 days on, 2 days off, rotating AM, PM & Night Shifts.

You’ll Bring With You

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitment to a rotational roster across morning, afternoon and night shifts
• Ability to work a roster pattern of 4 days on and 2 days off
