Job summary

Heritage Lifecare – Broadview Lifecare in Whanganui (New Zealand) is seeking casual Domestic Service Assistants to provide cleaning and laundry services for residents. Shifts include AM, PM and weekends, with a focus on reliable, empathetic care in a warm environment.

You will join a team dedicated to high standards of cleanliness and resident well‑being, with on‑the‑job training and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive heritage community.

Qualifications

• Prior cleaning experience preferred; on-job training will be provided.
• Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
• Demonstrates empathy toward residents and colleagues.
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• Understanding of Nga Paerewa sector standards and Treaty of Waitangi requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient cleaning and laundry services for residents.
• Work cooperatively with the team to support care home operations.
• Uphold health and safety practices and respect residents’ dignity.

Our Domestic service assistants are responsible for providing an efficient and effective Cleaning & Laundry service for our residents at Palmerston Manor Lifecare. Skills & Experience

• Previous cleaning experience is preferred; however, full on-job training will be provided.

• Understanding of Nga Paerewa sectors standards and applying the Treaty of Waitangi standards in the workplace.
