Job summary

Oceania Healthcare is seeking a confident Roster Coordinator in Canterbury/Christchurch to streamline rostering across our care homes and Nelson region. You’ll balance workforce needs with compliance and budgets while supporting managers to deliver high-quality resident care.

You’ll work closely with General Managers, Clinical Managers and our operations team to maintain continuity of care and a positive staff experience, ensuring rosters are well-structured and reliable.

Qualifications

• Proven rostering experience in aged care or healthcare is desirable.
• Excellent administration and database management skills.
• Understanding of employee agreements and awards helpful.
• Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to safe, person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain rosters across multiple Care Homes in line with occupancy and service requirements.
• Review timesheets, monitor leave, and support workforce planning.
• Collaborate with managers to fill vacancies and backfill shifts.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development activities.
• Ensure compliance with employee agreements, awards and policies.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and agencies.
