Job summary

Fine Fettle Cafe in Taupo is seeking an experienced Cafe Manager to lead day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service and high standards of food quality and customer care.

You will manage rosters, control labour costs, coordinate kitchen and front-of-house, monitor sales and costs, and uphold food safety, health, and safety regulations while driving profitability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cafe experience.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Physically fit and good character.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily café operations, ensuring smooth service and consistent standards.
• Prepare staff rosters, manage labour requirements, and control wage costs.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
• Manage ordering, stock levels, stocktakes, deliveries, and waste control.
• Oversee cash handling, EFTPOS, banking, and daily financial reconciliations.
• Monitor sales, costs, and operational performance to improve profitability.
• Work with the kitchen team on menu development, pricing, quality, and cost control.
• Coordinate promotions, events, and marketing initiatives to increase sales and customer loyalty.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and workplace safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate staff, payroll, supplier, stock, and compliance records.
• Ensure the café is clean, well presented, safe, and ready for service.
• Lead by example during busy periods and provide hands-on support to the team.
