Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages in Trentham is seeking a Café Assistant to deliver friendly service, craft great coffee and prepare tasty cabinet foods for residents and visitors. You’ll join a warm team in a welcoming café that supports the village community.

You’ll work with the Chef Manager and Café Supervisor to ensure a consistent experience, contribute to events, and help create a high-quality café atmosphere. Two part-time shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality or café experience.
• Superb barista skills.
• A warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard.
• Providing outstanding barista services.

Job Description:

We’re now looking for a Café Assistant for our Trentham village who shares our love for people and hospitality.

You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you’ll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Providing outstanding barista services
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions
• Handling cash and reconciling daily takings

You’ll work closely with the Chef Manager, Café Supervisor, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that’s welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

We have 2 part-time positions available.

Tuesday - Saturday 8:30am - 3:30pm (65hrs per fortnight)

Wednesday - Friday 10:00am - 2pm (24hrs per fortnight)

Qualifications:

You will bring a warm and positive approach to everything you do, along with:
