Job summary

Summerset Trentham Village is seeking a friendly Café Assistant to welcome residents, families and visitors with great coffee, food and service.

Two part-time roles available: Tue-Sat 8:30am-3:30pm (65hrs/fortnight) and Wed-Fri 10:00am-2:00pm (24hrs/fortnight). You’ll work with the Chef Manager and Café Supervisor to run a warm, efficient café in a supportive community village.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality or café experience.
• Superb barista skills.
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present, and serve food and drinks to a high standard.
• Provide outstanding barista services.
• Assist with catering for village events and resident functions.
• Handle cash and reconcile daily takings.

Job Description

We believe that a great cup of coffee and a warm smile can brighten anyone's day. We're now looking for a Café Assistant for our Trentham village who shares our love for people and hospitality.

You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you'll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Providing outstanding barista services
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions
• Handling cash and reconciling daily takings

You'll work closely with the Chef Manager, Café Supervisor, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that's welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

We have 2 part-time positions available.

Tuesday - Saturday 8:30am - 3:30pm (65hrs per fortnight)

Wednesday - Friday 10:00am - 2pm (24hrs per fortnight)

Qualifications

You will bring a warm and positive approach to everything you do, along with:

• Previous hospitality or café experience
• Superb barista skills
• A warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
