AA Insurance is seeking an experienced Business Analyst (AI) to join our AI Centre of Excellence in New Zealand. You’ll bridge business and technology, unpack complex opportunities, engage stakeholders and turn ambiguity into clear, practical solution outcomes.

You’ll work with business and technical teams to shape and deliver AI and automation solutions while developing your capability in this rapidly evolving space. A strong BA background and genuine curiosity about AI are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical BA, Business Analyst or Solution Analyst.
• Strong discovery, elicitation and process-analysis skills.

Business Analyst (AI)

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Solutions Analyst to join our AI Centre of Excellence at AA Insurance.

This isn’t a role where you need to arrive as an AI expert. We’re looking for a great Analyst first: someone who can unpack complex opportunities, bridge business and technology, engage stakeholders and turn ambiguity into clear, practical solution outcomes.

What we’d love is for you to also be passionate about and have some exposure to AI or automation and genuine curiosity about its potential. You might have worked on AI, automation, data or technology initiatives, or you might already be using tools like Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT to improve the way you work.

You’ll work with business and technical teams to shape and deliver AI and automation solutions, while developing your capability in this rapidly evolving space.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead discovery, requirements elicitation and process analysis.
• Translate complex business problems into clear requirements and practical solution outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops and bring together business and technical stakeholders to reach decisions.
• Contribute to the design and delivery of AI, automation and technology solutions.
• Identify opportunities where AI and automation could improve processes or customer and employee experiences.
• Support prompt and agent instruction development where relevant.
• Consider privacy, security, risk and governance requirements when shaping solutions.
• Develop test scenarios, validate solutions and work through defects, edge cases and refinements.
• Adapt your BA approach to suit the work, from rapid automation initiatives to larger enterprise programmes.

A Bit About You

You’ll bring:

• Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Business Analyst or Solution Analyst.
• Excellent discovery, requirements elicitation, process analysis and solution-shaping capability.
• The technical fluency to effectively bridge business needs and technical delivery.
• Experience with technology, automation, digital or data solutions.
• Some exposure to AI or Generative AI, including practical use of AI tools in your day-to-day work.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Confidence working through ambiguity, changing requirements and competing priorities.
• An understanding of technology risk, privacy, security and governance.
• Experience creating test scenarios and validating that solutions are fit for purpose.
• Curiosity, adaptability and a genuine interest in building your AI capability.
