Job summary

AA Insurance NZ is seeking an experienced Solutions/Business Analyst to join its AI Centre of Excellence in Auckland. The role focuses on unpacking complex opportunities, bridging business and technology, and delivering practical AI and automation solutions.

You’ll collaborate with business and technical teams, shape requirements, and facilitate decision-making while exploring AI capabilities and governance considerations.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Business Analyst or Solution Analyst.
• Excellent discovery, requirements elicitation, process analysis and solution-shaping capability.
• The technical fluency to bridge business needs and technical delivery.
• Experience with technology, automation, digital or data solutions.
• Some exposure to AI or Generative AI and practical use of AI tools.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Confidence handling ambiguity, evolving requirements, and competing priorities.
• Understanding of technology risk, privacy, security and governance.
• Experience creating test scenarios and validating that solutions are fit for purpose.
• Curiosity, adaptability and a genuine interest in building AI capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery, requirements elicitation and process analysis.
• Translate complex business problems into clear requirements and practical solution outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders to reach decisions.
• Contribute to AI, automation and technology solution design and delivery.
• Identify opportunities where AI and automation could improve processes.
• Support prompt and agent instruction development where relevant.
• Consider privacy, security, risk and governance when shaping solutions.
• Develop test scenarios, validate solutions and handle defects and refinements.
• Adapt BA approach for rapid automation or large enterprise programs.
