Job summary

AA Insurance NZ is seeking an experienced Solutions/Business Analyst to join its AI Centre of Excellence in Auckland. The role focuses on unpacking complex opportunities, bridging business and technology, and delivering practical AI and automation solutions.

You’ll collaborate with business and technical teams, shape requirements, and facilitate decision-making while exploring AI capabilities and governance considerations.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Business Analyst or Solution Analyst.
• Excellent discovery, requirements elicitation, process analysis and solution-shaping capability.
• The technical fluency to bridge business needs and technical delivery.
• Experience with technology, automation, digital or data solutions.
• Some exposure to AI or Generative AI and practical use of AI tools.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Confidence handling ambiguity, evolving requirements, and competing priorities.
• Understanding of technology risk, privacy, security and governance.
• Experience creating test scenarios and validating that solutions are fit for purpose.
• Curiosity, adaptability and a genuine interest in building AI capability.

Business Analyst (AI)

We’re looking for an experienced Solutions Analyst to join our AI Centre of Excellence at AA Insurance.

This isn’t a role where you need to arrive as an AI expert. We’re looking for a great Analyst first: someone who can unpack complex opportunities, bridge business and technology, engage stakeholders and turn ambiguity into clear, practical solution outcomes.

What we’d love is for you to also be passionate about and have some exposure to AI or automation and genuine curiosity about its potential. You might have worked on AI, automation, data or technology initiatives, or you might already be using tools like Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT to improve the way you work.

You’ll work with business and technical teams to shape and deliver AI and automation solutions, while developing your capability in this rapidly evolving space.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead discovery, requirements elicitation and process analysis.

• Facilitate workshops and bring together business and technical stakeholders to reach decisions.
• Contribute to the design and delivery of AI, automation and technology solutions.

• Adapt your BA approach to suit the work, from rapid automation initiatives to larger enterprise programmes.
