Christchurch City Council is recruiting Building Consent/Control Officers at Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Christchurch. You will process building consent applications to support compliance with the Building Act and Building Code, providing clear, timely guidance to customers, designers and builders.

Candidates at different career stages are welcome; a current competency for processing Building Consent applications at level 1, 2 or 3 is required.

Formación

• Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers, their agents, and internal teams.
• Confidence dealing with complex issues and making practical, well-informed decisions.
• Sound knowledge of the Building Act, Building Code, and relevant standards.
• Familiarity with industry best practice, construction methods, and building techniques across a range of building types.
• A collaborative mindset and a commitment to quality service delivery.

Responsabilidades

• Process building consents to support compliance with the Building Act and Building Code.
• Provide clear, effective, and timely technical guidance to customers, designers, builders and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality, timely consent outcomes.
• Maintain competency for processing Building Consent applications at levels 1, 2 or 3.
