Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Broadcast Technician to join the Queenstown team. You will set up, operate, and maintain audio and video equipment for live broadcasts, recordings and studio productions, ensuring seamless media delivery.

You'll work with producers, directors and on-air talent, troubleshoot under pressure, and support high-quality programming for multiple platforms in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Broadcast Technician or similar.
  • Knowledge of video and audio equipment and broadcast standards.
  • Proficient with control room equipment and DAWs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot quickly and effectively.
  • Attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
  • Technical certifications or degree are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain broadcast equipment including cameras, mics, lighting, and transmission systems.
  • Monitor audio and video signals; troubleshoot issues to maintain quality.
  • Assist in production of live and recorded TV and radio programs.
  • Operate vision mixers, sound desks, and other control room gear.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on broadcast equipment.
  • Collaborate with the production team on technical aspects of formats.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient and reliable Broadcast Technician to join their media operations team in Queenstown . You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio and video equipment for live broadcasts, recordings, and studio productions. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to troubleshoot effectively under pressure to ensure seamless media delivery. You will work closely with producers, directors, and on-air talent to execute technical aspects of programming, contributing to the high-quality content produced by our client for various media platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain broadcast equipment, including cameras, microphones, lighting, and transmission systems.
  • Monitor audio and video signals to ensure optimal quality and troubleshoot any technical issues.
  • Assist in the production of live and recorded television and radio programs.
  • Operate vision mixers, sound desks, and other control room equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on broadcast equipment.
  • Collaborate with the production team to implement technical aspects of program formats.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Broadcast Technician or in a similar technical role in the media industry.
