Maatua Whāngai Trust (Te Roopu‑a‑Iwi o Te Arawa Charitable Trust) in Rotorua is seeking a Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to support daily financial administration, reconcile bills and card transactions in Xero, and provide general admin support to the Operations Manager.

You will maintain organised records, liaise with suppliers, assist with month‑end processes and funding reporting, and work with the team to develop and implement processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounts, or financial administration.
  • Working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and process‑driven approach.
  • Able to work independently and manage your own time.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile bills paid and credit card transactions in Xero.
  • Support basic bank reconciliation tasks in Xero as directed.
  • Code transactions accurately using established categories.
  • Load accounts payable and receivable.
  • Maintain organised financial records (digital and physical).
  • Liaise with suppliers and external stakeholders.
  • Support month‑end financial processes.
  • Assist with basic financial and funding reporting.
  • Provide general administrative support to the team.
  • Manage correspondence by phone, email, and in person.
  • Maintain filing systems, including cloud‑based folders.
  • Coordinate basic office supplies and equipment.
  • Support development and implementation of processes and policies.
