Job summary

Te Rori a Mua Trust is seeking a financial administrator to support bookkeeping, payroll, GST/PAYE, invoicing, and reporting. You will assist the Finance Lead and leadership to strengthen governance and service delivery for our members and whānau.

Based in Auckland, the role involves bank reconciliations, invoicing, maintaining MYOB records, and assisting with monthly summaries for the Board, while upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Qualifications

  • Experience in bookkeeping, payroll, or financial administration.
  • Strong knowledge of MYOB, GST, PAYE, and IRD processes.
  • High accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Clear communication and a collaborative approach.
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice (advantageous)

Responsibilities

  • Processing receipts, supplier invoices and petty cash
  • Maintaining accurate MYOB financial records
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Preparing GST and PAYE returns
  • Supporting fortnightly payroll processing
  • Preparing and issuing invoices for services and funding
  • Assisting with monthly financial summaries for management and the Board
  • Maintaining organised digital and physical financial filing systems
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of financial processes

This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial administration across the Trust. You will support our Finance Lead and leadership team with bookkeeping, payroll, GST/PAYE, invoicing, and financial reporting. Your work will directly strengthen our governance, transparency, and service delivery for our members and whānau.

Key responsibilities

Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations

Processing receipts, supplier invoices and petty cash

Maintaining accurate MYOB financial records

Managing accounts payable and receivable

Preparing GST and PAYE returns

Supporting fortnightly payroll processing

Preparing and issuing invoices for services and funding

Assisting with monthly financial summaries for management and the Board

Maintaining organised digital and physical financial filing systems

Contributing to continuous improvement of financial processes

About you

Experience in bookkeeping, payroll, or financial administration
