Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our Takapuna-based property consultancy. The role involves hands-on bookkeeping and financial administration across multiple entities, with close collaboration with management and external advisers.
You will own day-to-day processing, payroll support, GST, project cost tracking and monthly reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely financial information for project funding drawdowns.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our Takapuna-based property consultancy.
This is a hands-on role responsible for providing accurate, timely and reliable bookkeeping and financial administration support across the business and a portfolio of associated property-owning entities.
Working closely with management and external advisers, you will take ownership of day-to-day financial processing and reconciliations while also supporting payroll, GST, project cost tracking, property-related accounting, monthly reporting and funding drawdowns.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across multiple entities using Xero
Process accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoices and payments
Complete regular bank and credit card reconciliations
Monitor and reconcile rental income and property-related expenditure
Prepare and process payroll, including relevant payroll administration
Assist with the preparation and filing of GST returns
Track project budgets, costs, commitments and expenditure
Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting
Prepare supporting financial information and documentation for project funding drawdowns
Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation across all entities
Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations where required
Liaise with external accountants, property managers, suppliers, contractors and other professional advisers
Assist management with financial and administrative queries
Support improvements to financial processes, systems and reporting
Undertake other bookkeeping and financial administration duties as required
We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable and comfortable taking ownership of the day-to-day accounts function.
Ideally, you will have:
A minimum of 2 years' relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong practical experience using Xero
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
Experience processing payroll and assisting with GST returns
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
The ability to manage multiple entities, accounts and competing priorities
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Clear and professional communication skills
The confidence to liaise with accountants, property managers, suppliers and other external parties
The ability to work independently while also contributing to a close-knit team
Experience within property, construction, property development or professional services would be highly advantageous.
