Job summary

Bayleys Property Services is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our Commercial Property team in Auckland. You will provide financial leadership across portfolios, coordinating with Property Managers, clients, and the finance team to deliver accurate accounting outcomes.

You’ll lead budgeting, forecasting, monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, and GST reconciliations while supporting audits and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in property accounting preferred.
• Strong budgeting, reporting, GST, reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability.
• Ability to learn new platforms quickly and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance deliverables for key commercial property portfolios.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Complete bank reconciliations, GST returns, and general ledger reviews.
• Prepare and review operating expense wash-ups.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and forecasting.
• Provide financial analysis, variance reporting, and commentary to clients and stakeholders.
• Support audit requirements and compliance obligations.
• Build strong relationships with Property Managers, fund accountants, and client representatives.

Bayleys Property Services is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Property Accountant to join our high-performing Commercial Property team.

This is a pivotal role providing financial leadership across key commercial property portfolios, including responsibility for stakeholder management and finance deliverables including budgeting, reporting, opex reconciliations, and financial compliance. Working closely with Property Managers, clients, and the wider finance team, you'll play an integral role in delivering exceptional property accounting outcomes.

What you'll be doing

• Leading finance deliverables for key commercial property portfolios
• Managing accounts payable and receivable processes
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Completing bank reconciliations, GST returns, and general ledger reviews
• Preparing and reviewing operating expense wash-ups
• Assisting with annual budget preparation and forecasting
• Providing financial analysis, variance reporting, and commentary to clients and stakeholders
• Supporting audit requirements and compliance obligations
• Building strong relationships with Property Managers, fund accountants, and client representatives
