Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience OR a Level 4 or above relevant qualification.
• Weekly shifts 30–40 hours.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work well under pressure.
• Flexible with working hours, including weekends.
• Adaptable and able to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake breads, rolls and other baked products.
• Weigh and measure ingredients, check quality and freshness.
• Mix, knead, mature, shape dough and pastry products.
• Prepare fillings and ingredients for daily baking.
• Monitor fermentation, oven temps and baking times for consistency.
• Coordinate forming, proofing, baking, cooling and storage.
• Glaze and finish baked goods as required.
• Operate baking equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas per food safety requirements.
• Ensure products meet Gemini Cafe quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, rolls and other freshly baked products.
• Weigh and measure ingredients and check the quality and freshness of raw materials.
• Mix, knead, mature, cut, mould and shape dough and pastry products.
• Prepare fillings and other ingredients required for daily baking.
• Monitor dough fermentation, oven temperatures and baking times to ensure consistent product quality.
• Coordinate the forming, proofing, baking, cooling and storage of baked products.
• Glaze and finish buns, breads and other baked products as required.
• Operate baking equipment and machinery safely and correctly.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels of baking ingredients and assist with ordering supplies when required.
• Clean and maintain baking equipment, trays, tins and work areas in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Ensure all baked products are consistently prepared and presented to Gemini Cafe's quality standards.

To be successful in this role, you need:

• 2 years of relevant experience OR a Level 4 or above relevant qualification
• cover weekly shifts from 30 hours to 40 hours.
• Be reliable, responsible and able to work well under pressure.
• Be flexible with working hours, including weekends when required.
• Be adaptable, safety-conscious and able to work well as part of a team.
