This role is suited to an experienced baker who takes pride in producing high‑quality bakery products and is confident working independently in a fast‑paced supermarket environment.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, mixing, and baking bread products in line with established recipes and standards
- Producing cakes, sweet pastries, and muffins as required
- Managing dough preparation, proofing, baking, and finishing processes
- Ensuring all products meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards
- Completing production to required timeframes
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe work environment in line with food safety and hygiene requirements
- Carrying out quality control checks to ensure consistency
- Operating bakery equipment safely and correctly
Hours of Work
- Full‑time role with fixed hours: 4:00 am – 12:30 pm, rostered across five days
- Regular days off are Tuesday and Wednesday
Skills and Experience
- Recognised bakery qualification (Certificate in Baking Level 4 or equivalent)
- Proven experience in bread baking within a commercial or supermarket bakery
- Strong knowledge of food safety and safe food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a hot, fast‑paced environment
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Well organised, reliable, and able to work independently
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Physically fit, including the ability to lift up to 20kg regularly
