Job summary

Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre in Auckland is seeking an experienced Baker to join our Pastry team. You will produce bakery items and support pastry production for conferences and hotel guests.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of Baker experience, a Food Cookery or Culinary Arts qualification, and works well in a team, manages time effectively, and maintains high hygiene standards. 32 hours per week with flexible shifts and staff discounts across our properties.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Baker.
• Experience in Pastry/Conferencing kitchens is valuable.
• Must be able to bakery production and support pastry production.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and safe working area with minimal wastage.
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Be a team player with strong communication and a positive attitude.
• A qualifying Food Cookery or Culinary Arts certification is essential.

What we need from you:

• Minimum of 1 years experience as a Baker
• If you have experience in Pastry, Restaurant or Conferencing kitchens, that is also valuable
• The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for (but not limited to) bakery production; and provide support as needed in Pastry production
• Effectivley minimises wastage and maintainins a clean, hygienic and safe working area
• Excellent time management and works well under pressure
• An eye for detail and high standards
• Be a team player and excellent communicator
• Have a positive can-do attitude and bring your best every day
• A qualification in Food Cookery or Culinary Arts is essential.
