Job summary

Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities is seeking a Software & Hardware Asset Manager to lead the day-to-day management of our technology assets. You will ensure licences and hardware are tracked, compliant, and optimised, partnering with Digital IT, Procurement, Finance, and vendors.

You will drive data quality, governance, and insights, developing dashboards and reports to support budgeting, renewal planning and audits across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Software and/or Hardware Asset Management.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing, compliance, and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience with ServiceNow, CMDB, SAM Pro, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with attention to data quality.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience analysing licence consumption and cost optimisation.
• Ability to interpret licensing agreements, consumption data, and vendor contracts.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• A proactive, continuous improvement mindset and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate software and hardware asset records with strong data quality and governance across ServiceNow and asset management platforms.
• Manage the end-to-end governance of the lifecycle of assets.
• Monitor software licence usage, compliance, and consumption to optimise costs and support audit readiness.
• Partner with business, technology, procurement, and vendor teams to provide asset insights for budgeting, forecasting and renewal planning.
• Analyse asset performance, consumption, and cost trends to identify risks and opportunities for optimisation.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, documentation and knowledge resources to improve asset visibility and decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement of asset management processes, workflows, governance, and ServiceNow capabilities.
• Support software audits, ensuring licensing compliance and organisational standards.
