Job summary

Mahitahi Trust is seeking a resolute and compassionate Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Practitioner to join our go-getting clinical team in Central Auckland. You will assess, support and guide clients through recovery, applying evidence-based practices to improve wellbeing and resilience.

As part of a multidisciplinary service, you will collaborate with colleagues, undertake treatment planning, and promote harm reduction and client-centered care.

Qualifications

• DPAANZ recognised applied addiction qualification.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in addiction treatment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques.
• Empathy, patience, and a commitment to client-centered care.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, support, and guide clients through the recovery process.
• Direct client interactions, treatment planning and collaboration with the team.
• Promote harm reduction and a substance-free lifestyle.
