Job summary

Health New Zealand |TeWhatu Ora is recruiting a Specialist Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Practitioner to join the Mental Health & Addictions team in Counties Manukau. This permanent, full‑time role focuses on delivery of specialist care within the Addiction Intervention Competency Framework and aligns with CADS partnerships.

You will be a registered healthcare professional (nursing, allied health or psychology), DAPAANZ registered, with at least 5 years post‑qualification AOD experience,

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional with DAPAANZ registration.
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification clinical experience in AOD.
• Training in supervision and knowledge of addiction frameworks.
• Understanding of Maori and Pacific wellbeing considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist AOD care within the Addiction Intervention Competency Framework.
• Coach and mentor workforce and collaborate with CADS.
• Deliver holistic, culturally responsive services across districts.
