Job summary

Queenstown Airport Corporation is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support facilities, buildings, grounds and assets. You will tackle reactive and preventative tasks, coordinate with contractors, and help keep our airport safe and functional.

You’ll work in a dynamic team, applying practical trade skills and strong problem-solving while prioritising safety and customer experience. NZ residency or valid work visa is required.

Qualifications

• Strong practical problem-solving skills.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and juggle competing priorities.
• Practical trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing or painting would be a bonus.
• Knowledge of building compliance requirements would be advantageous.
• Experience using a Building Management System (BMS) or CMMS would also be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking reactive and preventative maintenance across airport facilities and assets.
• Responding to maintenance requests, troubleshooting issues and finding practical solutions.
• Completing minor building maintenance, repairs and improvement works, which may include grounds maintenance, basic carpentry, plumbing and painting.
• Carrying out routine facilities inspections and identifying maintenance requirements or defects.
• Responding promptly to urgent maintenance issues to help minimise disruption to airport operations.
• Maintaining and inspecting designated airside assets.
• Working alongside contractors and suppliers to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Building strong working relationships with tenants, contractors, suppliers and the wider QAC team.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with our airport, airside and safety requirements.
