Job summary

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside in Queenstown, New Zealand, seeks a reliable Maintenance Team Member - Handyperson to join our hotel maintenance team. You will perform general building maintenance and repairs across the property to keep guest rooms, public areas, and facilities safe, clean, and fully operational.

The role requires practical skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general repairs, plus the ability to work independently and manage day-to-day tasks.

Qualifications

• Competent in carpentry, painting, plumbing and general repairs.
• Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day maintenance requests.
• Experience in general building maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms and common areas; report issues and update job sheets.
• Carry out general repairs and maintenance to buildings, fixtures and equipment.
• Undertake painting, patching and gib stopping as required.
• Complete basic plumbing tasks such as replacing taps and fixing leaks.
• Prioritize tasks and escalate to external contractors when needed.
• Maintain records of work and materials used.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and liaise with engineering/management.
