Job summary

Odyssey House NZ is seeking an organised Admissions Coordinator to join our team in New Lynn. This full-time, permanent role supports the Assessment and Admissions team to deliver a welcoming service, coordinate appointments and admissions, and help tangata whai ora and whānau access the care they need.

The ideal applicant will have a health-related certificate, client-facing admin experience, and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Qualifications

  • Ideally a minimum Level 4 Certificate in Health or related field (preferred).
  • At least 1 year's relevant administration experience in a client-facing role in a social services, health, mental health or addictions care setting.
  • Willingness to embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model.
  • Excellent communication skills and empathy for people experiencing mental health and addiction challenges.
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to this role.
  • The ability to evaluate information thoroughly, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage your time and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • A full NZ Drivers Licence.
  • Knowledge of basic te reo Māori is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide administrative support across the service, including triage cover and ensuring smooth appointments and admissions.
  • Support the Assessment and Admissions team to deliver a high-quality, responsive and welcoming service to stakeholders.
  • Help appointments and admissions run smoothly and ensure people and whānau feel supported as they access care.
