Job summary

Entertainment Accounting Services, Auckland, is seeking an experienced accountant with a strong BAS background to service diverse NZ and overseas clients, including the music and entertainment sectors.

Ideal candidates will have 5–8 years of BAS experience, be proficient in Xero and MYOB AO for tax returns, and work within a firm that uses Xero for financial statements. Leadership skills and a commitment to training junior staff are valued.

Entertainment Accounting Services – Auckland, North Island

EAS is a accountancy firm based in Auckland close to the CBD, that works with interesting and varied clients throughout NZ and Overseas from USA, UK and Australia. Some of our clients work within the film and music industry and our clients have varied businesses with various income streams and require tax advice for NZ and internationally. This role offers variety and responsibility in this role and the chance to work with our interesting clients and extend your accountancy knowledge within this diverse role. We are a team of 12 and enjoy staff functions and have training for our accountants to keep up to date.

Qualifications & experience

Ideally you would have a minimum of five to eight years BAS experience, be working currently with XERO and MYOB AO for tax returns. We are 100% Xero for financial statements.

minimum of 5 years experience working in Business Advisory with a minimum of one year working in New Zealand in an accountancy BAS role looking after clients within the music and entertainment industry. This is an essential part of the role and therefore one year experience working with musicians in New Zealand is essential for you to be considered for this role.

Strong level of technical knowledge in taxation and high level of professionalism and enthusiasm.

Have strong leadership skills and be willing to train other accountants.

Tasks & responsibilities

Be responsible for completing financials, tax returns, reviewing intermediate work, assisting junior staff with queries, management accounts and advising clients. Be well trained in Xero so that you can setup for clients and when required train clients how to use.

Work with our junior accountants and assist with their queries.

Training is important to keep hours up for CA or CPA qualifications.
