Job summary

HV Power Measurements and Protection Limited is seeking an experienced Account Manager to develop and nurture strategic client relationships across key customers in New Zealand. You will drive revenue through proactive service delivery, maintain forecasts, and coordinate bids and cross-functional teams to secure opportunities.

You will manage multiple accounts, leverage CRM tools, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure customer satisfaction and sustained

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in account management or a similar client-facing role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Sound understanding of sales principles and business acumen.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Must hold a current drivers license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans for key customers, including stakeholder mapping, relationship objectives, growth opportunities and agreed actions.
  • Maintain a clear sales pipeline and rolling revenue/order forecast for each account, with realistic probability, value and expected timing of opportunities.
  • Obtain and maintain visibility of customers' forward procurement programmes and project look-ahead plans to support early supplier engagement, capacity planning and delivery certainty.
  • Take commercial ownership of opportunities by considering pricing strategy, margin, payment terms, contractual obligations and commercial risks, escalating for approval where required.
  • Coordinate bids and tenders from opportunity qualification through quotation, clarification, negotiation, award and internal handover, ensuring customer commitments are clearly captured.
  • Build relationships across customer organisations, including engineering, procurement, commercial, network/operations, field teams and key decision-makers, rather than relying on a single contact.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market developments, customer standards and upcoming network investment, and communicate relevant intelligence internally to support business and product strategy.
  • Support the complete customer lifecycle after award by maintaining proactive delivery communication, managing commercial expectations, supporting resolution of variations or account issues, and identifying repeat-business opportunities.

About you
