Job summary

HV Power in New Zealand seeks a skilled quotes engineer to take responsibility for producing customer offers for switchgear and to maintain a pricing library for efficient proposal preparation.

You will work with Sales Engineers, coordinate pricing, and ensure bids meet safety and contractual requirements while gaining a deep understanding of Siemens MV switchgear applications.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Sales Engineer responsible to clarify the scope of each customer requirement on which to build an offer
• Work independently or with others to acquire all pricing in the given time frame
• Calculate costs by identifying and analysing labour and materials against the scope of work, documents and specifications provided by the client
• Prepare all switchgear quotations/proposals/offers to customers, assembling technical detail and displaying pricing information
• Clarify with clients any changes required to the scope of existing project/contracts and then prepare variations
• Ensure bids are inclusive of all mandatory requirements and applicable safety regulations
• Ensure the bid addresses all contractual and commercial requirements
• Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of Siemens MV Switchgear products and their application
• Organise and maintain a library of the necessary technical product information of Siemens switchgear and protection relay models
• Seek pricing on protection relay models and other items used in the assembly of panels
• A minimum of 5 years experience

To take overall responsibility for producing customer offers for switchgear. To build and maintain a library resource to aid the efficient preparation of offers. To negotiate with local suppliers & subcontractors for purchases of goods and services. To work with the Job Managers at the start of a project to hand over information and on completion of a project, to review actual costs against the estimated costs used for the original customer offer.
