Planning Manager
Job summary
A leading recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to oversee and manage the planning function in a large international oil and gas project located in Asker, Norway. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree, at least 10 years of experience in planning for oil and gas projects, and strong leadership and communication skills. Jefferson Wells is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Planning Manager to lead and manage the planning function in a large-scale international project. This is a key role for a candidate with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in strategic planning within oil and gas projects.
Contract period: ASAP – 31/12/2026
Location: Asker
- Lead and manage the planning group.
- Translate the plan and schedule strategy into the execution plan with all schedule owners.
- Ensure all plans comply with contract and administrative requirements, including key interfaces with partners, subcontractors, suppliers, and third parties.
- Proactively control, monitor, analyse, and report performance to relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate trends, critical path analyses, and consequences of scope changes, variations, risks, and opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate across the project to enable all stakeholders to deliver on their scheduled scope.
- Master’s degree in business administration or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience leading planning teams on international oil and gas projects.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, providing planning insights for decision-making, and simplifying schedules for stakeholders.
- Offshore or construction experience is an advantage.
- Product planning and scheduling experience for system solutions is a plus.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people through change and ensure schedule ownership.
- Ability to translate complex changes into predictable outcomes.
- Language requirements:
- English – Native or bilingual proficiency (must have)
- Norwegian – Full professional proficiency (nice to have)
