Job summary

IKM Stavanger seeks an experienced telecom design engineer for offshore projects, responsible for detailed design, estimation, and package handover. You will apply standards and coordinate with suppliers.

The role includes onshore/offshore inspections, FAT participation, and training junior engineers, with Norwegian and English language requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecom, Instrumentation, or Automation; a Technical College degree with extensive relevant experience is also considered.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design for offshore-related projects.
• Extensive knowledge of modifications on operational offshore installations.

Responsibilities

• Design and estimate telecom tasks for offshore projects.
• Review studies and design basis; produce job packages.
• Prepare job packages, track deliveries, and as-built documentation.
• Manage supplier follow-up and package ownership.
• Participate in pre-testing/FAT at supplier sites.
• Conduct inspections onshore and offshore.
• Provide training for new engineers.

• -Prepare job packages, follow up on deliveries, and perform as-built documentation.
• -Manage supplier follow-up and take responsibility for packages.
• -Participate in pre-testing/FAT at supplier locations.
• -Conduct inspections both onshore and offshore.
• -Take on training responsibilities for new engineers.

Required expertise

• -Bachelors or Masters degree in Telecom, Instrumentation, or Automation; a Technical College degree with extensive relevant experience is also considered.
• -A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design for offshore-related projects.
• -Extensive knowledge of modifications on operational offshore installations.
• -Strong knowledge of telecommunication systems, network infrastructure, and fiber-optic technologies used in the oil industry.
• -Good knowledge of standards such as ATEX and relevant industry requirements.
• -Must hold valid certificates for EX, FSE, AT/SJA, and an offshore health certificate.
• Language: Proficiency in Norwegian and strong English skills are required.
• Location: Stavanger, Norway (includes offshore work)
• Work schedule: Full-time
• Duration: This is a 24-month assignment.
