Job summary

Ikm Gruppen AS is seeking a safety engineering specialist to perform detailed design and modification tasks on offshore safety systems (PFP/AFP, EER, SIL) in Bergen, Norway. You will coordinate across disciplines and verify designs to ensure compliance with Ptil, ISO and NORSOK standards.

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems, including Passive and Active Fire Protection (PFP/AFP), Escape, Evacuation and Rescue (EER), and Safety Integrity Level (SIL).
• Conduct interdisciplinary coordination, checks, and verifications.
• Identify and facilitate required risk and verification activities such as HAZID, WEHRA, and design reviews.
• Provide input on cost and plan activities for the project's safety aspects.
• Follow up with clients, vendors, and third parties to ensure project alignment.
• Support and guide other engineers within the team.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement processes and experience transfer.

Required expertise

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in technical safety or a related engineering discipline. Relevant work experience may compensate for formal education.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience with offshore design and modification projects in Norway.
• In-depth knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO standards, and NORSOK standards.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with various stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A high degree of self-learning and problem-solving abilities.
