Job summary

Head Energy seeks a Technical Safety/Senior Engineer to lead safety system design and modification on offshore projects in Norway. You will address PFP, AFP, area classification, and SIL while coordinating with clients and vendors.

The role emphasizes rigorous risk assessment, HAZID activities, and continuous improvement. Ideal candidates hold a Master/Bachelor in technical safety with 5–10 years offshore experience, strong communication in Norwegian and English, and a proactive learning

Qualifications

• Master/Bachelor degree in technical safety or related discipline. Relevant experience acceptable.
• 5–10 years of offshore design/modification experience in Norway.
• Knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.
• Ability to learn independently and quickly.
• Fluent Norwegian and English writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects.
• Address passive and active fire protection (PFP/AFP) and area classification.
• Define fluid groups and PED; ensure safety integrity levels (SIL).
• Coordinate interdisciplinary checks, IDC, and verifications.
• Contribute input on cost and plan safety activities.
• Identify risk and verification activities (HAZID, WEHRA, design reviews).
• Follow up with clients, vendors and third parties.
• Support and mentor engineers and promote a positive work environment.
• Facilitate continuous improvement and experience transfer.

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects
• Passive Fire Protection, PFP
• Active Fire Protection, AFP
• Area Classification and Ignition Source Control
• Fire and Gas Detection
• Escape, Evacuation and Rescue, EER
• Safety Integrity Level, SIL
• Definition of fluid groups, PED
• Working Environment Engineering
• Environmental Care Engineering
• Interdisciplinary coordination, checks, IDC, and verifications.
• Perform work tasks according to the company's and the clients governing documentation.
• Give concise input regarding cost and plan activities for safety aspects of the project.
• Identify and facilitate required risk and verification activities e.g. HAZID, WEHRA and design reviews.
• Follow-up of client, vendors and 3rd Parties.
• Support and follow-up of engineers.
• Work actively for a good professional and social environment in the group.
• Contribute actively to the process of continuous improvement and experience transfer.

Qualifications

• Master/Bachelor degree in technical safety or other related disciplines. Relevant work experience can compensate for educational level.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience within offshore design and modification work in Norway. Experience should give capability of working independently on the V&M projects while collaborating effectively with stakeholders
• Knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.
• Ability to show a high degree of self-learning skills.
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills.
• Good communication capabilities.
• Awareness of Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.
