Techconsult is seeking a Technical Safety/Senior Engineer for the Bergen area. The role focuses on detailed safety system design, including PFP, AFP, area classification, fire and gas, SIL, and PED compliance.

The candidate should have 5–10 years of offshore design experience in Norway, strong self-learning skills, and fluent Norwegian and English. The position is onsite in Bergen with competitive salary and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master/Bachelor degree in technical safety or related disciplines; relevant experience allowed in lieu.
• 5–10 years of offshore design and modification experience in Norway.
• Ability to work independently on V&M projects while collaborating with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.
• Strong self-learning capability.
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills.
• Good communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify safety systems in projects.
• Handle Passive Fire Protection (PFP) and Active Fire Protection (AFP).
• Perform area classification and ignition source control; manage fire and gas detection.
• Oversee escape, evacuation and rescue (EER) planning; ensure SIL compliance.
• Define fluid groups and PED guidance.
• Coordinate cross-discipline checks, IDC and verifications.
• Provide input on cost and planning for safety aspects.
• Identify required risk and verification activities (HAZID, WEHRA, design reviews).
• Liaise with clients, vendors and third parties; support engineers.
• Promote a good professional and social environment; contribute to continuous improvement.
