Job summary

Energy As in Bergen seeks an experienced safety engineer to perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in offshore projects. The role covers PFP, AFP, area classification, fire and gas detection, EER, SIL, and PED, with environmental care engineering and IDC verifications.

Responsible for risk activities (HAZID, WEHRA, design reviews), cost input, and client/vendor coordination. Collaboration across disciplines is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor degree in technical safety or related discipline; relevant experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in offshore projects.
• Address Passive Fire Protection (PFP) and Active Fire Protection (AFP).
• Handle Area Classification and Ignition Source Control, Fire and Gas Detection, EER, SIL.
• Define fluid groups, PED; contribute to Working Environment and Environmental Care Engineering.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary checks, IDC, and verifications; ensure compliance with governing documentation.
• Provide input on cost and planning for safety aspects; facilitate risk activities (HAZID, WEHRA, design reviews).
• Follow-up with clients, vendors, and third parties; support engineers; foster a good group environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge transfer.

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects

• Perform work tasks according to the company's and the clients governing documentation.

• Give concise input regarding cost and plan activities for safety aspects of the project.

• Identify and facilitate required risk and verification activities e.g. HAZID, WEHRA and design reviews.

• Follow-up of client, vendors and 3rd Parties.

• Support and follow-up of engineers.

• Work actively for a good professional and social environment in the group.

• Contribute actively to the process of continuous improvement and experience transfer.

Required Education:

• Master/Bachelor degree in technical safety or other related disciplines. Relevant work experience can compensate for educational level.

Required Work Experience:

• 5-10 years of relevant experience within offshore design and modification work in Norway.
  Experience should give capability of working independently on the V&M projects while collaborating effectively with stakeholders

• Knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to show a high degree of self-learning skills.

• Excellent Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills.

• Good communication capabilities.

• Awareness of Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.
