Job summary

Mitchell McDermott in Norway is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (MEP) for a high-profile Data Centre project. You will lead on-site activities, manage Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works, and collaborate with clients to optimise progress, safety and quality.

The role requires a strong background in construction consultancy, data centre projects, and exceptional leadership and reporting skills.

Qualifications

  • Relevant third level qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in Construction Consultancy, Client or Developer role.
  • Experience in Data Centre projects.
  • MEP scope knowledge: pre-construction MEP design, HVAC, chilled water, HV substations, cable installations, commissioning/testing.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • High level of reporting skills.
  • Proficient in preparing and analysing construction programmes.
  • Contract administration experience advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Strong eye for detail.
  • Motivated, diligent team player.

Responsibilities

  • Be a visible on-site leader, assessing progress and enforcing safe MEP practices.
  • Identify issues proactively and work with the team to resolve them.
  • Implement and monitor project processes, partnering with the client for improvements.
  • Lead and attend key meetings, monitoring progress and communicating impacts.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager (MEP) to join the team in Norway on a really exciting Data Centre project. In this role you will

  • Be a visible leader onsite, assessing progress and ensuring safe work practices specifically related to MEP works.
  • Identify issues proactively and work with the team to resolve effectively
  • Implement and monitor key project processes, partnering with the client to make improvements and revisions
  • Lead and attend key meetings to monitor progress, actively collaborate on solving problems and communicate impacts to partners
  • Implement project procedures and use reasonable endeavours to ensure that they are always observed
We Would Welcome Your Application If You Have
  • A relevant third level qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience ideally within a Construction Consultancy, Client or Developer role but others will be considered
  • Experience in Data Centre projects required, specifically managing Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works including but not limited to pre-construction MEP design, HVAC, chilled water systems, high-voltage electrical substations, and cable installations and commissioning and testing of MEP systems.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • A high level of reporting skills
  • Are proficient in preparing and analysing construction programmes
  • Experience in contract administration would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
